This bag is amazing! I've alwsys had black bags and I decided to go with the slate color and I'm so happy I did the color and the bag is awesome! Well made and I love the hardware in it!

It is great quality leather and has plenty of room in the purse to carry everything that I need. The billfold is the same quality. It holds all my cards, cash, coins and ID cards. I ordered the Melissa satchel and billfold 3 days ago and it arrived today, that is amazing!! I love both products!! I will use both for years to come. It is quality leather and lives up to Frye's reputation as a great product. The bag is roomy and not too heavy. The billfold has more than enough compartments to serve all my needs.
Thanks Zappos for getting them here so quickly.

I got the burgundy, it is lush, very pretty, color looks like the pic. I am getting more compliments on this than when I take out a Gucci or Louis Vuitton. I have been wearing it as a crossbody.

BEAUTIFUL BAG, EXCELLENT CRAFTSMANSHIP, BUT FOR TOP ZIPPER.
NEED 2 HANDS TO CLOSE - ONE TO HOLD THE ZIPPER IN PLACE, AND ONE TO ACTUALLY ZIP IT CLOSED. IT IS QUITE STIFF, AND NOT ANCHORED AT ONE END.

Pro's - great look, soft leather, really roomy inside. Holds everything I need with tons of room to spare. Have received lots of compliments on the bag.
Con's - zipper not very smooth compared to a Coach, Dooney or Brighton and bag is a little on the heavy side.

This is a heavy purse. I can only imagine how much it would weigh when in use. It is a well made purse but not for me. I was interested in it because of the strap to wear as a messenger bag. If you like to carry on your arm you may like this style. I love love Frye boots.

I purchased this purse that I have been dreaming about forever! It is absolutely gorgeous, perfect size and beautiful leather BUT I can't get over the chemical smell. I'm trying different methods to get rid of the smell, but they are not working. I'm going to go to baking soda next. I would have hoped for $400.00 I would have to be troubleshooting ways to get a chemical smell out of my purse!

Beautiful bag, and beautiful quality of the leather; I'm sad this one didn't work out for me. I purchased a part of boots in the Frye Melissa style, slate color (love 'em!), and I thought to pick up a bag to match with it. Unfortunately, this sucker is heavy, substantial even when empty. It comes with two kinds of straps -- a long over-the-shoulder and shorter hand handles -- but my preference is to be carrying this in-hand, and those hand handles were not at all comfortable for me with my little hands. Bummer.

I have quite a few Frye bags and I don't love this one. It's very structured and heavy which isn't for me. I prefer a softer leather and lines. The craftsmanship does appear excellent as would be expected with Frye but I'll be returning it as it's just too stiff and heavy for me.

Loved the way this looked online but after pulling it out of the box was disappointed. I generally love Frye leather but not this. It feels like a cheap plastic bag and up close looks like the colors are fake and not a true dyed leather. Size was very nice but it is going back.

Wow. Hate to be a negative Nellie here but had to send back.I really wanted to love this handbag. Sturdy but dare I say….cheap looking???? For the price of this bag (over $400 with tax) it looked like it could have been a Marshall’s handbag. Yeah, I’m not keeping it for that reason.

Got this as a Christmas gift. Handle drop not long enough to put over my shoulder. Handle straps so thick they are not comfy in my hand. Shoulder strap so thin it cuts into me due to the weight of the leather.
Awesome craftsmanship and the leather itself is top tier. Just wish it was more functional for me.
