SAXX and Rumpl Take on Ocean Plastic
GIVE BACK COLLABORATION
Feel good. Do good. SAXX Underwear and Rumpl team up to fight ocean pollution.
Born and bred in the Pacific Northwest, SAXX Underwear and Rumpl share more than just a lush backyard. Innovative and outdoor-loving, both brands have a serious obsession with comfort and designing kick-ass consumer products.
Now, with the help of Plastic Bank®, the two are teaming up to raise awareness and funds to fight ocean pollution and improve lives in impoverished coastal communities.
Plastic Bank® is a social enterprise that builds ethical recycling ecosystems in coastal communities. They support collectors who exchange plastic waste for bonuses that provide basic family necessities such as groceries, cooking fuel, school tuition, and health insurance. The collected material is reintegrated into products and packaging as part of a closed-loop supply chain.
In collaboration with Brett Stenson, Portland-based artist and outdoors aficionado, “Fish Are Fly” was born, a design directly inspired by the natural world and our place in it. Applying the print to two best-selling styles from SAXX and Rumpl – the Quest Boxer Brief and Original Puffy Blanket respectively – both brands have partnered with Plastic Bank® to make an environmental, social, and economic impact.
Rumpl will help stop over 50 thousand single-use plastic bottles from entering the ocean through a one-time contribution to Plastic Bank®. This is in addition to Rumpl’s continuous efforts to improve the environment - to date, they have helped recycle over 11 million plastic bottles by donating 1% of their sales to other environmental causes.
SAXX, who has previously collaborated with Plastic Bank®, will help prevent 50 bottles from entering the ocean for every Fish Are Fly Quest Boxer Brief that Zappos purchases.
