I purchased these gloves just about a month ago. The fit and style were good and they appeared to provide a good deal of protection. However, after 30 days of ownership (maybe only 15 or so hours of use total) the stitching on the fingers on the right hand glove have completely blown out, leaving my right middle- and ring-finger exposed to the road. I don't do extensive downhill or sliding runs, I just wanted basic protection as I am learning to long board. For this price, and from a company as well-respected as Triple 8, I would have expected a sturdier product. I cannot recommend these gloves to anyone, except perhaps as a fashion accessory, because I wouldn't trust them for actual use.

After a constant battle with my 15 year old son to wear a helmet when skateboarding, he finally agreed when he saw this one on-line. The helmet arrived on a Thursday and on Saturday he was boarding with a group of friends. He unfortunately, fell hard going down a hill. He broke his ankle and his wrist, had cuts that required stitches, but his head was fine! He had hit the back of his head first where there are lots of scratches on the helmet, but it didn't crack and thankfully, neither did his head. Best purchase I've made in a long time!!

This is the first skate helmet that I felt like I didn't look like I was wearing a donkey helmet with. It's very comfortable and has a nice design.

Came in completely fine and quickly, feels a little awkward on the ears though (I blame my large dome).

I love my helmet. The sweatsaver liner is a great addition and helps keep sweat out of my eyes while I'm doing roller derby! Love it!
I'm about 160lbs at 5'7" and ordered the XL, but had to exchange for the L. Perfect fit, for this bum! Was really comfortable boarding with 'em. It's not like having a big fluffy cloud breaking your fall, but it's pretty decent protection. Just be cautious since you might have to go up a size in your snowpants or outer shell to make space for these pads. I recommend 100%.

The greatest skate helmet in the universe. Perfect fit. I love that I don't get sweaty. Great ventilation. Just ordered another one for my love.

Not too comfy on me. The cut for in between the middle and ring finger comes down as deep as the other spaces in between the index and middle finger and the ring and pinky finger making for a pinchy feeling right in the middle of the hand. Oh! Made in China. No wonder they don't "fit like a glove". Next time I'll try the slide gloves Loaded makes. These ones are really hot too. No ventilation.

I love my new helmet. It's a great product at a great price. I got my new helmet in two days, which is awesome! It was exactly what I wanted and Zappos.com was the best price and free shipping.

This is a lightweight helmet. The sweat liner creates a comfortable fit. The appearance and styling are great in comparison to others and it's sold at an appropriate price.

Wow have knee pad come along way! These are great. Gone are the days of fabric covered with plastic that were difficult to get in and impossible to get out after sweating a bit. These are easy on and off thanks to velcro closures. They also have a nice cushion lining for hard impact falls. Happy skating!

We live in the south where it is very hot in the summers. I am looking forward to seeing if this helmet's sweatsaver liner really works! My son loves the style and fit.

Zappos delivery is lightning fast. Order the helmet, think about getting it the next day, and poof--the delivery person chucks it over the gate within two days?! How is that possible? I wear a size 7.5 and this is the largest helmet that 888 makes. It's snug and makes me feel secure, but the real reason I got it is because it's so styling. I mean a glossy black helmet with a gleaming red topping? Are we serious? Girls love rubbing my head--if you know what I mean--nyuk nyuk!

I have been skating most of my life and the only company for a truly comfortable helmet is Triple 8. My head doesn't get all sweaty because of the sweat saver thing and every other helmet I have tried just annoys me when I m skating. If you re trying to buy a helmet you should defiantly go with Triple 8.

I bought this helmet for my son. This is the second "Triple Eight Brainsaver" helmet he has had and he loves them! Make sure you get the one with the Sweatsaver Liner. Zappos had the best price and the helmet was received very fast. Would definitely recommend the helmet and getting it from Zappos!
Nice idea, but bad execution--at least for my hands. I bought these to play roller derby. When I tried them on they fit well on my wrists and hands. I knew with them having a leather component they would take some time breaking in. I was ready for stiffness and a snug feel. However, something inside the glove pressed on a nerve between my third and fourth fingers of both hands, causing a ceaseless shooting twinge. I readjusted, didn't help. I tried them on again the next day, just to be sure, and still that twinge was there. The problem might have gone away after the leather broke in, but, honestly, there was no way I could concentrate on skating when both of my hands would be pinging annoyingly all through practice. As much as I wanted them, I had to send them back. Now, there's a lady on our team who absolutely adores hers, so it's clearly not a universal issue (or she has lumberjack hands) but it is something to consider before springing for a much higher priced item than regular wrist guards.
Perfect fit. If you have a doubt concerning the size, don't forget it is stretch, at the end it is always good. However, the delivery was very fast. 2 days.

Not really sure about what the most common head injuries are by bike versus skating, but apparently, there are different concerns since the helmets for each activity have different padding inside. I was looking for a helmet for rollerblading. I went with one from Triple 8 that's also qualified for biking just because I liked the padding better. This one seems alright for front/back/side impacts but not really great for impacts to the top of the head. Getting hit on the top of the head may not be common, but I still feel better with the bike helmet. The thing about the bike helmet is that it is bigger than this helmet because of the different padding. And it may make you feel like Darth Helmet.

I use this helmet for what is the world's greatest sport - roller derby. It's great; fits comfortably on my head, has an adjustable strap and is exactly what I was hoping to receive. I also have the version with the Sweatsaver liner, but prefer this one much more.

I have not actually tested it with impact, but this is a great helmet so far. Fit is tighter than suggested, I had to move from an L to XL.
This is my second pair of Triple 8 knee pads. They are easy to put on and aren't too bulky like some other brands. I use mine for roller derby, and I love them.

When you think about action sports protective gear, the only name you need to know is Triple Eight. Why? Because Triple Eight is a company that embodies everything that is pure, authentic and soulful in skateboarding and beyond, much like New York City itself.
