About Spiewak
In 1904, company founder Isaac Spiewak first sold his sheepskin vests on the streets of New York City. From one large room in Brooklyn, Isaac and his sons watched their business grow through two World Wars and the Great Depression. With the third generation, Spiewak expanded to meet the changing needs of American industry and create new fashion trends.
Throughout the decades, Spiewak has left its mark on everything from arctic wear to military garments to the pages of leading fashion magazines and trend reports.
Today, the fourth generation, Michael and Roy Spiewak, are carrying on the family legacy, their mission is to keep a tradition of innovation alive; to continue to build on the firm foundation established a century ago by creating forward reaching design while still utilizing their extensive archives to serve as inspiration.

Great jacket! My first Spiewak purchase and I have to say you can definitely feel the quality. While the jacket costs a bit for a nylon coat - you get what you pay for. In terms of fit and the look: I think that for clothes to look their best they must fit impeccably. This jacket nails it. I am 5'9", 150lbs and the medium looks like it was built for me. Further, the coat has a drawstring in the waist so you can make it more fitted if you would like. You might be thinking "drawstring - no way" but it's high on the jacket and extremely hidden so it can hardly be noticed. With it drawn in a little you can feel the jacket hug your ribs, so you can make it as slim fitting as you like. This jacket is the right mix of casual laid back and put-together ready for a night out. I wear it to work on casual Fridays and it doesn't look out of place. Great buy!
This coat is so cute. Slim, long sleeves, slim waist and cute flared 'skirt'. Imagine my disappointment when the wool in it just made my eyes itch like the dickens all day. Apparently I can no longer wear wool.
