Shimano Reviews
Pretty straight forward review. They are comfy and do exactly what I ordered them for, fit my Shimano clip-less pedals. I like the styling and the mesh keeps your feet cool. Would definitely buy again.
I was so excited to get these shoes - they are cute as hell and exactly what I needed. Unfortunately, when I got them they just didn't feel right. I know bike shoes are supposed to be snug - which I am not used to for athletic shoes - but these just seemed to rub and pinch. I took them to a bike shop to see if I had the right size. The size was right, but when I tried on a pair of the Pearl Izumi X-Road Fuel, the difference was night and day. Same size (both were 38-s - I wear a 7 US), but the PI's were soooo comfortable - and they also seemed more sturdy or solid than the Shimanos. So, sadly - as cute as these are, they have to go back. Might be the right shoe for someone's feet, but just not mine.
Bliss! A shoe that fit my wide front foot, super high arches and normal heel. I bought these as a replacement to a more "street" Shimano SPD shoe that finally gave up the ghost. I looked and tried cycling shoes for over a year before these. Each one said they were wider in the toe box - they definitely weren't. The ratching closure took a day to get used to, as it plus the tongue are very stiff, but I really do like how well I can fit the shoe where I need it now. I wear a 41 Euro - I originally ordered that size and my toes were crushed in it. The 42 Euro fits slightly large with summer weight socks, but allows for heavier wool socks for when the temps drop below freezing.
I had heard and seen tons of great reviews for the Shimano brand and I loved the look of these so I purchased them. I got a half size bigger than what I usually wear for room for wearing socks. They fit perfectly and are super comfortable!
The Shimano SH-R133L is a pretty sweet cycling shoe. I went with a 41.5, size 8. The fit is true to size. The shoe is very comfortable. Most important, it is stiff at the bottom. I'm getting a much more efficient pedal stroke.
So far, I am happy with these shoes. I usually wear a size 6 but wanted to be sure they weren't too tight like some cycling shoes so I ordered a 38 which is about a 6.5. They are a tiny too big but I think a size down might be too small and they work fine. The straps are easy to adjust and work smoothly. I cycle (outdoor) several times a week and they haven't hurt my feet yet. They work well, wish they had a little more play on pulling up part of the pedaling but they work fine. I like how there is plenty of room in the toe area. They are a nice shoe and I'd buy them again. I do wish they had them in black or another color but they do match my white back so I guess it works!
My husband and I each got these shoes to use for spin class and with our road bikes. They are great shoes! The Velcro and ratcheting straps help snug them up on my narrower feet, and his wide shoes fit very well. For reference - I wear a women's size 12 and the 45 medium fits perfectly. My husband wears size 15, and he tried both the 50 medium and 51 wide. He kept the 51s as his toes hit the top of the 50s, which would be uncomfortable when standing while pedaling. It was easy to install the cleats, and these shoes are really helping with our bike training.
For whatever reason, I really like the style of these biking shoes. I loathe those shoes that are so space-age high tech. These are great shoes. I use them for all my biking. The shoes fit perfectly and they are made to be able to walk around, even though there are bike pedal cleats on them. I love that.
Very pleased with this triathlon specific cycling shoe. I purchased a 39 and it fits my foot well -- I am between a 7.5 and 8 with a narrower width. It feels light on my feet and the carbon fiber composite sole is stiff, making for a more powerful pedal stroke. The single velcro strap, crucial to efficient transitions, makes it easy to slip in, secure and take off! Good price for the product.
Comfortable, lightweight. Sizes are close. I wear an 11 went with the 11.2 or 46 in their sizes. My feet are a little wider than a D but the shoe has a little give.
Why, oh why, is there a hole built into the sole of this shoe at the toe?? I found it very distracting and uncomfortable. Also, I didn't like the last (fit) used for this shoe. Even just standing in the shoe to try it on, my smaller toes were starting to lose proper blood flow.
These shoes are a bit heavy but I knew that when I purchased them. A few extra ounces doesn't really matter to me. I would buy them again.Quick shipping from Zappos!
I wear a womens 11.5 on my right foot. The largest womens shoe in this model was too small. Zappos called Shimano and they recommend an equivalent size in mens. It was the same size as the first pair of womens. Sent those back and up-sized one from there. They are now perfect. Keep in mined Shimano has no clue about their own sizing. These run way small so be advised.
Great for spinning. They won't slip once you get off the bike. The other bikers have to be careful because they can fall. So I'm the envy of the spinning group.
All around, a good sandal for biking. I've worn them in warm weather this spring and they are great for keeping your feet cool. I'm a size 12 US man's and the 47/48 fits well. They aren't narrow, but they are not wide, either. The mesh webbing underneath the straps is a little rough, but with time they should soften. While the cost seems pricey for sandals, I think they're worth it if you do a lot of warm weather biking.
This is a great comfortable bike shoe for the aspiring workhog wannabe pro. Looks terrific on and as though I really know what I am doing with a twist-off bike shoe.
Finding riding shoes for me has been tough. I run quite a bit too and wear a Brooks Addiction in size 10, E width. My Shimano's are a size 43 and fit perfectly. Go figure! I think the top buckle is a must, much easier to adjust on the go accurately vs a three velcro attaching system. These are great shoes for the money, just wish they came in all black!
I love them! Perfect for indoor cycling and spin.
Love these shoes! I wear a 40 in Specialized,8.5 in Nike man's basketball shoes, 9 in woman's Asics running shoes, and pretty much an 8 1/2 in everything else. I went with the 41(8.5)and it fits perfectly, 40 definitely would have been too small.
I use MTB shoes and pedals with my road bike, but this shoe has stiff soles pretty much like regular road shoes, which is a good thing. The straps and latch allow you to set tightness just right, and there is still enough room in the toes to keep you comfortable on long rides. All in all, a pretty good MTB shoe for the money. Keep in mind that Shimano shoe sizes run a bit large, so it's a good idea to buy one EU size smaller than what you normally wear.

In 1961, a three-speed bicycle hub displayed at the New York Toy Show became the catalyst for what would eventually become Shimano American Corporation. The popularity of 20-inch wheeled bikes with hi-rise handle bars fueled a demand for multi-speed hubs and Shimano® began producing an affordable and reliable version that caught the attention of the
