Red Wing Heritage Reviews
Bought these boots with hopes they would be suitable for working in classroom where I would be on my feet all day. Very glad I went ahead and purchased a pair of Red Wing boots-The style of these boots makes them very suitable for both the classroom and after hours, matching well with khakis and jeans. The fit on these boots is also just as they say; you may want to get a half size down or so to ensure a good fit and be ready to have slightly sore feet for the first couple days as you break them in, but the small amount of discomfort is worth the fit you will get after a while. I would highly recommend these shoes and am hopeful they are durable enough to last me a couple years before I buy another pair of the same Red Wing boots.
No one has ever complimented my foot wear until I started wearing these. I'm not much for flash; these boots are not flashy, but there's something awesome about them when I slip them on. I ordered one size down (9.5 D) from my sneaker size (10.5 D). That's not unique to this pair of Red Wings. My boot size has nearly always been 1 full size smaller than my sneaker size. I'm retired military, I'm a motorcyclist, I've worn a lot of boots. About 3 days to get them 70% broken in. In a week, they feel like you're wearing fine Italian gloves for your feet. I've never actually owned a pair of fine Italian gloves, but I imagine they might feel like this pair of boots after they're broken in. The shoe laces do seem short at first, but as the leather molds and sculpts to your feet, the lace length is perfect.
Absolutely love these boots. I ordered Red Wing and Frye boots and the quality of the Red Wings are miles ahead. I've started the long break in process with these thick boots. They look great at the office yet they are beefy enough to stand up to the outdoors. Love them.
Boot is a truly unique combination of good looks and comfortable wearing. It is beautifully constructed and made in he USA. I am now a Red Wing fan!
Excellent craftsmanship and design. The best boots I have ever owned. Once you break them in (2 weeks) they become a part of you. No arch support but that is not a complaint, just a fact to be aware of.Order 1 size smaller than your usual unless you intend to wear them with very thick socks.
These are the highest quality boots I have ever owned. They hurt like heck the first few times I wore them but once they are broken-in they are like a glove.
I cannot speak to the all day comfort of these shoes as I have only received the pair this evening. That being said, they seem to run at least a full size larger than their work boots. I generally wear a 11½H or 12EE in Redwings, and a consistent 11½EEE in Allen Edmonds. These were ordered in 12EE. They were way too big. I will return them for a smaller size. Overall they look like nice boots.
Best boots I bought in a long time. Very well made and extreme comfortable from the first minute.
These boots are very good quality, no flaws in workmanship. I ordered 1/2 size smaller than I normally buy and they fit perfectly.

I've been wearing these for a month now. I really love these boots but the break-in period was a little rough. Now that they are broken in they are comfortable and they are probably the toughest boots I have. They're sturdy and look nice. I also have the 6 round toe in copper and a pair of 877s, and the other two pairs of boots are a tad more comfortable (the crepe sole has a lot to do with it), but these Beckman's are definitely the best-constructed of the lot.I love the color as well. I wear orthotics for bad feet and have slightly narrow feet so some folks with wide feet might think these are a tad narrow. Overall, I dig these and since I got them in the mail I've worn them everyday.
Cool boots. Pretty stiff at first, and coming from Ecco dress shoes, they took some getting used to. Three weeks in now, and they're feeling good. Steep price, but I can tell I'm going to have these for a very long time. Excellent craftsmanship. Also, runs a full size bigger than my "normal" size. From other reviews on here, ordered both a full size and a half size smaller than normal, and the full was it. No worries thanks to Zappos' kick-ass, hassle free return policy. Will order from these folks again!
These are excellent chukkas. The white sole takes a bit to get used to if you haven't worn RW before; they do clean up well. Also, out of the box they are very stiff but after a week or so they break in nicely. Expensive but a good investment.
Bought them for my brother- as always he was very happy with them- very difficult to find- so thank you Zappos for carrying them.
Gorgeous, sturdy boots I'll probably be buried in! They take a fair amount of breaking in.
Not much that hasn't been said about these boots. One month in and they've broken in incredibly well. The quality of leather and craftsmanship is apparent, and I know I'll be wearing these for years to come. It's been mentioned numerous times, but needs repeating: Order 1 full size down! If you are on the fence, as I was, take another half size off. Folks aren't kidding when they say it. The toe box is big enough to get away with it and you won't run into heel slippage.
My first Zappos purchase and these boots make me so happy. They look great right away (yet still new). They fit beautifully, lace up easily and are just nice to touch. I am a big fan.
Great boot. No red wing embroidery as pictures. Very solidly built, should last a lifetime. I am a woman wearing size 9 so i got size 7 for men as I always do. Fits great, roomy but not too big. The only issue is getting in and out. The elastic is very stiff and the opening is narrow. It ensures a good grip and foot is stable but very hard to get it on and off. On is easier with the fabric loop but to get them off you need a boot jack or a very strong friend! Probably will be easier with time. Overall very happy. I always get blisters and whatnot but already wore them twice for long walks, not a blister in sight!
Awesome Chukka! This boot is fantastic. I wear a 10 in just about every shoe so I was a little hesitant to order a 10 in this boot because some people reviewed it as running large. The 10s fit perfectly. As other reviewers have stated, these really need quite a few wears to break in. The boot has almost zero arch support because it has a very thick leather insole. The more you wear it, the more it conforms to the feet. Be patient and be ready for a little discomfort for a while. Once you get it broken in, it fits like no other shoe/boot you have owned. The only criticism I have of this boot would be the lack of a lining on the inside. But isn't that what a Chukka is all about? Well done Redwing. :)
Although these boots are a bit expensive,it is money well spent. The craftsmanship is impeccable and they will no doubt hold up for many years. After the initial break in period, they became very comfortable. I would gladly buy another pair when these finally wear out.
