I ordered these with the intention of using them for light activity, hiking, and short jogs. They are very comfy and quite stylish! I would hesitate to use them on a longer run only because I need more ankle support and these are very low profile. I broke them in on a muddy 4.5 mi hike on a recent vacation and they held up great! Just make sure to double knot the laces as they tend to untie occasionally!

Great overall look and very lightweight. Happy I ordered a 1/2 size larger. Feels like good arch support. My duck feet that do not fit Nike do fit well in these.

Love these shoes! Light with enough cushioning but not too much like marshmallows! I used to wear ghosts then glycerine and went back to the ghost 9 last year. After an injury and therapy I was advised to wear more of a minimal shoe. I wanted away from the extreme cushion and the 10-12 mm diff of the other models. This shoe is perfect! The toes box is wide enough for my bunions and there was no break in required. I wear an 8 in flip flops or dress shoes and usually size up a 1/2 size in athletic shoes so these were perfect in an 8 1/2. Note I did have to size up to a 9 in the ghost 9's. The only thing I would change about this shoe is the white on the sole! Thanks Zappos for your fast shipping and awesome customer service!!

I am so happy that the feel of the original cadence is back in this shoe. I have had several models in between and they never came close to the originals for me. I have a wide forefoot and low arches. I have worked these shoes hard for the last few weeks and have no major complaints.

So happy to have a wider toe box, these are more like the shoes I fell in love with. Cushioning is light, would like a little more under the ball of my foot, but otherwise love them. The tongue is great, could run all day with these! Bought second pair just in case they update the model again. I really didn't enjoy the last couple of versions because the toe box got very narrow. I've loved these shoes for years, this version is fantastic!

love the cadence 6. I've used the 4 and 5, but these are the best. Wore for Boston Marathon. Kept my feet supported yet they are lightweight. No foot pain at all during or after race. An excellent lightweight fast shoe for training and racing!

I have been wearing the Pure Cadence for years, because I love the minimalist type shoe, but with enough support to help my pronation. These are the best yet. I LOVE the color scheme this time around, and everything is so nice and comfy to run or walk in. I plan on buying an extra couple of pairs for when my current ones wear out, that's how stylish I think this version is!

So disappointed that these were too small. Maybe this brand runs that way? I ordered the castle rock/black/diva pink color scheme and the pink was BRIGHT. Brighter than pictured. Sigh, thankful that Zappos makes this return process easy.

These were suggested to be by a shoe expert who thought I might like a more minimalist shoe since I prefer the feeling of my Brooks Launch after they've got about 100 miles on them. I don't like these for running. They are amazing work shoes, for those who are on their feet all day. I found that because of the wide toe box it's actually more shoe, not less, and I kept stumbling. I also prefer to stay in a little higher drop as that is what my feet are used to, and I don't feel an ounce or two of shoe is really the limiting factor in my running performance. The shoes themselves are very well made, feel amazing on your feet while walking or standing, and have some wonderful design features. If your foot and calves are used to this style of shoe for running, I recommend it, but if not you will have to retrain your legs and I don't think it's worth it to style my gait to match a shoe. I gave them 4 stars only because they're meant for running but I didn't find the best use there.

I loved my Brooks Pure Cadence 4 and I love the 6 just as much...except...the color. The Black shoe looks like it has Blue accents online, but that blue is straight purple on the heel and all around the bottom. The Brooks "swish" is an Iris color, but the rest is purple and I don't like it. So, unfortunately they are going back. If you like the colors I can highly recommend this shoe for the arch support, toe room (gotta wiggle them), style and comfort. Brooks are the only athletic shoe I own. I have a bad ankle that was broken and repaired a long time ago and I have a narrow heel with a wide toe box, so I require a certain level of comfort and support that Brooks always delivers. I did notice I had to go up a half size this time. Not sure if it's me or them. I just wish they would make the Cadence in a neutral color just once!

This pair of shoes is one of the many pairs I've tried on recently in the search for the perfect shoe. It made it into my top four, however, as I look for both style and comfort in my shoes, the colors won't coordinate well with my wardrobe (just to quickly note: the pink is more like a fluorescent pink in real life), thus I will sadly be returning these. However, I do highly recommend them and will consider its successors or even the same pair in the future if I require a shoe that is more minimalistic or everyday. That is one trait that differs from the other 3 pairs as this one appears way less bulky overall, and I especially appreciated that with regards to the heel collar height as it is much lower than the collars of most shoes these days. So if you prefer less coverage of the back of your ankle, this shoe is a good choice. Plus, while testing them on the stairs, there wasn't a difference in my actual speed, but I still felt faster because of how lightweight the shoes are. I was also initially concerned that the fabric upper would leave my toes more exposed to potential injury, but there is a decently-sized and sturdy toe box inside the shoe. Furthermore, I wasn't expecting the tongue to be so thin. Maybe that's better for the design, but it did cause a slight inconvenience when putting on the shoe. Or maybe I would have gotten used to it over time, but I'll never know now. Additionally, the shoes were comfortable, especially the smooth cushioned back of the heel collar. It's quite a contrast to other shoes with (sometimes - initially) rough, mesh collars. The only downside of that is that my foot often slid a bit (but not completely out) of the shoe while walking. Then a bigger concern of mine is how my heel occasionally slid from side to side while walking. That's likely due to how I have a bit of narrow heel, but there wasn't much friction due to the smooth (and obviously comfortable) fabric, so that sliding more noticeable. I'd like to note that I ordered the shoes in both a size 9 and 9.5, and the 9.5 was the one that ended up in my top four. But there was barely a difference in their overall comfort, more of a difference in how was one was bigger and the other was a little bit more snug, but they both were equally comfortable. I may regret returning these in the future, but I'm glad that I can check them out later on with a sense of assurance based on my experience with this pair.

Purchased 2 pairs of sneakers to try, this one in black and purple and the Inov-8 215. I'm returning these. These got back to the comfort level of the earlier series (2, 3) with a wider toe box, but I didn't like the white sole with the black sneaker. I wear a size 9 and love anything that makes my feet look smaller. These did not. However, good colors and the built in tongue is comfortable. I am returning them, since the Inov-8's gave me everything I was looking for for the same price. I probably could have gone up a 1/2 size with these since my toe was at the end of the shoe, but fear next size would have been to large.

These sneakers are growing on me. They're too bouncy for me to wear on the treadmill, but I like them for around the house stuff and running errands. They look decent with jeans and I like the color. They definitely run small-I need a 9 in these when I usually wear an 8 or 8.5 in sneakers. The material of the shoe is stretchy and feels nice on my feet.

Brooks should stick with what they do best: athletic shoes that cost a bit, but are solid, good for your feet, jazzy looking shoes. Wearing these I feel every pebble under foot. Right fit and great looks. Maybe Zappos could add more " review categories" for sneakers.

The shoes look nice, stylish. The laces are long and stretchy. Good arch support, shoes feel like they curve in towards the arch and hug the arch. I returned these shoes because they are too narrow for my feet. Most Brooks I can wear a normal width, and don't have to order wide, but these Pure Cadence 6 felt very tight. I even wore my regular "work socks" to test them. I walked around the house a bit and my feet were throbbing from the shoes being tight, even though I laced them very loose, which the long laces were able to accommodate. I have problem feet, of course. Wide, flat, over pronation, plantar fasciitis, big big toe that hits the top of shoes. The Toe Box was roomy and my toes didn't feel squished, but again they run tight, length was the same as other Brooks shoes I have worn. I wear a 10.5 running / work sneaker.

This shoe fit different. I don't know if its the stability control but it did not fit in the arch or ball of my foot. I don't like feeling hard spots due to the support under the ball of my foot. I really wanted to like these but they did not work for my foot.

I liked this shoe a few models ago; light compact shoe with good cushioning and not bulky. Last year the new model was terrible and I went with Sauconys. This year was a bit better but the shoes felt a little narrow in the toe box. I ran in them and they made my feet burn and parts of the medial post where its stiff under the arch seems to hit pressure points in my feet and made it horribly uncomfortable.
I'd also recommend:

The area around the front toes are reinforced with cardboard like material so if you compress it by getting your toes stepped on or sit on your knees which squish your shoes flat that cardboard gets bent and then weakens and stays kinked. I've trie two different pairs thinking I just got a defected shoe but second pair did the same thing. I've owned two past pure cadence shoes which had rubber reinforced toe. Those held up. I hope the next series gets changed. Pass on these
