Petzl

A friend of mine had one of these Petzl Zipka 2 headlamps for camping and recommended it. So I got one for myself to use when jogging at night, to light the road ahead of me. It works great. I put it over a beanie cap that I wear and it stays put; not too tight and it doesn't leave a mark on my forehead, but also does not move around from the jogging. It is very lightweight; I hardly notice it is there. It is bright enough for me to see so that I don't trip, and also gives some warning to oncoming traffic that there is a jogger at the side of the road. (I also wear reflective gear and a red flasher for extra safety.) I've worn it in snow and light sprinkles and it has not had any trouble with moisture. The retractable cord is very sturdy; the only think I think I would need to be careful of is maybe if I used it at a beach or something I'd watch getting sand pulled into the mechanism, but that isn't something I'm greatly concerned about. It is exactly what I needed and I've been very happy with it, and also with Zappos for their fast shipping and quality website and service.

This was a replacement of an older model. I had done my research and when I found it available from Zappos I immediately made the purchase. Unit works great and I also bought the "Core" rechargeable battery pack for it also from Zappos.

I needed this for an upcoming night time 5K. A friend who had done them before told me this was the brand to look for. I was really impressed with the brightness and light weight. The ability to adjust the angle of the beam slightly, so that I would be able to look at the trail rather than straight ahead was an important factor. The Zappos fast shipping got it here in no time!

Overall a great bag. I was expecting it to be a little bigger but was surprised at how small it was when I opened the box. I bought the bag to be a gym specific bag and possibly a few day climb trips. For those two purposes it's probably pushing it. To the gym it fits: my shoes, harness, belay devices, a few carabineers, gym lock, shorts, and that's it. With that in mind I'd find it hard to be a day climb bag unless I wear my harness up the hike and have my shoes clipped to the outside of the bag. It is compact and a comfy bag once you get it on your back. Overall I can't complain about the price. It's nice to have waist and sternum straps and overall I'm pleased.

I love this thing! I know it's sold for outdoorsy type things, but I purchased it to give extra light when I'm knitting and seeing. I look like a total dork when I wear it, but it works! I love that the angle is adjustable as is the strap and there are two light levels.One thing to know--it does leave a mark on your forehead for a while after you take it off.

Great headlamp for running. I purchased it to replace my old one that lost a battle with my dog. Great light weight design. The battery life is great. I will use it ~1-2 hrs/week and not need to replace the batteries for months. Very bright and the multiple settings are helpful for a variety of settings. I found the lower setting quite helpful for running in heavy fog or snow showers. I've been very happy with the Petzl brand.

This light works as advertised, as a work light.I can have it on all day and the light brightness does not drop like all the aaa bat lights I've owned, where after 1 hr the batteries are dead.It's definitely larger and weighs more but not an annoyance. I always have gloves on so the dial switch makes it easy to turn on-off.UA-Pipefitter

I participated in The GORUCK Challenge in Tampa this past November that required have a headlamp as it started at 1:00am. After research and a friends recommendation I chose the Petzl headlamp. This was great choice as we covered 26 miles, half of it in the dark. I found the headlamp to be comfortable and it put out good beam, the fact that it was water resistant was a plus as well as we were doing pushups in the surf. I would recommend this headlamp and buy it again.

I tried a similar product a few years ago and hated it but as a Professional Dog Walker and the shorter daylight, I decided to give this a try and I am absolutely delighted. It is nice and bright and light weight and now I can see where I'm going with my hands full of leashes. The strap is a nice width and soft, I almost forget I have it on. I totally recommend it!

Exceeded my expectations! I was worried about the band sliding down my head while running or skiing, but that concern is completely eliminated due to the very adjustable, sort of stretchy material the band is made from. The natural hug my Petzl Tikka Plus 2 gives my head melts my heart, and I find myself doing odd things around the house just to validate not taking it off after my late night work outs. It's comfortable and practical with an amazing price. Perfect!

Between the two of us, my wife and I have owned 7 different Petzls. We lost one, gave one away to someone who needed it, crushed one and still have the rest. I keep going back to Petzl because they have been reliable in every situation, whether it's camping or just lighting a work project at home. This is the first model I've had with the additional red LED. I've yet to use that feature much but know it will come in handy on our next outdoor adventure. When camping we read every night so we're pleased with the long battery life (especially on low) I often find one or more of our Grandchildren wearing them as they explore some dark closet or our basement. I'm sure each of them would give Petzl 5 stars.

Great little light for climbing. I like to keep one in my pocket when I go climbing just in case the climb takes longer than expected. Nothing is more comforting than being able to see at night during a sketchy rap or walkoff.

A good product for hands free operation. Superior illumination. Red light feature excellent for preserving night vision. Have yet to determine true battery life.

This is not the top of the line product but it does the job and it does it well! If you are a weekend warrior, this is not the product for you. If you go camping once every full moon, then this is the product for you. I got two of them for my children and they love them! Great job Petzl.

I'm impressed. Items worked perfect. Shipping was quick. Petzl makes great headlamps, what's not to like?!

As per usual, Petzl has a quality product here. I am more than a little disappointed that the red and greem insert lenses from the older model no longer work, but I suppose you can always buy the plus to get the red lens.

My profession is Electro-mechanic on passenger light rail vehicles, with all the equipment cabinets and under floor mechanical, this rugged light has become indispensable. if you work in dark places, buy this light, don't waste your time or money on any others.

I use this for my morning runs; keep it on the dim setting and works great for me just enough light to see in front. I have worn running hats that do not feel as comfortable as this headband. I do recommend this product.

I purchased this for night running. I used it at 10:30pm on the Cape Cod Canal and it lit my path perfectly. You can adjust the angle for ground or in front. Comfortable fit, didn't slide or need adjusting. If you plan to wear over a visor, keep in mind the visor will block the light. Nice & bright, excellent addition to my running equipment.

This battery pack is awesome and last a long time between charges. No more batteries to throw away.
