Almost a decade ago, the Coal® brand name was created in Portland, Oregon in a small apartment where the founders were inspired by family and friends and influenced by other great, forward-thinking brands. Their passion was the belief that headwear was more than just something to keep your head warm, more than just a simple accessory. The desire to put the customer and a signature look first, above everything else, is what fuels the brand today.

Beware of this hat! The color was a dull putty, the brim was weird and the fit small. Incredibly unattractive combination. Never thought a hat that looked so cute in the picture could look so bad on my head.
I'm a woman, and love the way this hat looks. I've gotten compliments on it when I wear it -- which is strange when you think about it, it's "just" a warm winter hat. My only complaint is that it's very loose. This is my first slouchy hat so I don't know whether this is how it's supposed to fit. But it does not hug the frame of my face at all. I was this close to sending it back for a different style, but I'm glad I decided to keep it. Though I still wonder whether my hat is defective and missing the elastic around the opening (it does not fit snugly around the face like on the photo). The good thing is, it doesn't smush my hair down too much. The bad thing is, I'm just not accustomed to a hat that fits so loosely on my head. It's super-cute though, which is the important thing.
Everything about the hat is perfect! It now just has to get cold enough to wear it!
I just got this in black. So far I like it, however I wish it was a little thicker as it appears on the pic.
It islight in weight but quality soft 100% Merino Wool. The beanie is a relaxed fit giving a nice circular head shape look without it looking baggy. There are no big intrusive logos, just a tiny one on the top back. The beanie fits very snug/tight. I imagine with more use it would stretch out a bit. It fits my head perfectly as I am a size 7-7?. I have the navy which is the exact color displayed on the page.
Love it. Fits tight... the color is a little closer to navy than it is to charcoal, but still looks great. One of those hats you won't want to take off.
I have a pretty small head. It's usually hard for me to find hats that fit and this hat was too small! Very tight. I'm returning it.
I love this had. It is very cute and looks great! I have had many compliments on it, and one day my grandmother stole it to wear it, then the next day my younger cousin did too, so this hat looks good on any age, and all ages like it! It fits my head well, and the holes in it help the air flow through so my head doesn't heat up too much and I feel refreshed while wearing it.
It's slouchy but not too much. It comes with the folds sewn in. As others have mentioned, I cut the thread with no damage to the hat. Not terribly warm but better than no hat and it's really comfortable. Can't go wrong with a hat from Coal.
This is a very well made beanie. It is small tho. I wear about a 7.5 hat size. This beanie does not cover but about 1/2 of my ears even after stretching it out. If it was a little bigger I would love wearing this hat.
Very well made - this model is holding up better than my other Coal beanie (the FLT Lite I think it's called). It's worth noting that the Theo is sewn in the back for that "pulled back" look. Although I prefer that style I didn't like the way it was sitting so I used a hobby knife to cut the stitching - was easy to do without harming the beanie and gives you a bit more flexibility for sizing.
